Of those 85, 27 are filled at 17 facilities.

General Report:

We are working diligently to update our facility contact lists for both clearance and non-clearance facilities. I have asked both coordinators to highlight some facilities which have been vacant for an extended period.

Clearance:

Advent Health- went in with PR had a productive meeting with the facility and they are very flexible with times/days for people to come in. Anyone interested will need to register as a volunteer with Advent Health.

Seminole County Jail needs women to bring presentations into the women’s jail.

Empower is looking for men and women to bring presentations to the youth.

Also, Central Florida reception is now called the East Unit. We currently have one person bringing in a meeting.

It was recommended that anyone who feels that they would be able to pass the background check should obtain clearance, if they are able to. o La Amistad is now willing to let visitors come in who are not cleared, staff supervision is required, and they would need to rearrange their schedule to observe the speaker.

Non-Clearance:

Aspire men’s residential only has one meeting going in there a week. They are a flexible facility and would like to have more presentations.

Anchor is willing to allow having Thursday’s meetings at their facility, we received very positive feedback since bringing meetings back in.

Orlando Treatment Solutions wants to bring H&I presentations to their facility. Wednesday and Fridays at 7 pm for their men’s partial hospitalization program.

Crossroads is back on the facility list. They require an orientation.

Coverage for commitments was discussed and if there are any requirements for the substitute panel leaders. Clarified that the substitute needs to meet the qualifications for a panel leader, review Dos and Don’ts was suggested for each panel leader to have and give out if a substitute was needed for their commitment.

New Business:

It suggested that a PR and H&I panel Zoom meeting be coordinated to provide a refresher for all the facilities at the same time.

An Ad Hoc will be formed to get this set up and up and running. PR has also expressed interest, and we will need to coordinate how to get it done. More will be revealed.

Also, a policy review Ad Hoc was requested for H&I potential policy revision. Motion was tabled due to time constraints. We will revisit once we get the H&I refresher for facilities.

H&I members were invited to participate at Fellowship Development which happens at Region more information can be found on OrlandoNA.org.

Elections:

Co facilitator Role: Austin B. was elected by subcommittee, but unable to attend area this month so he will need to get acclimated next month.

ORC Thursdays at 7: Anthony W.

Osceola County Jail: June K.

Anchor: John P. - sharing the commitment with Jenny S. every other Monday.

ORC Mondays at 7:30: o Carlos starting in November we will have to revisit

Aspire Men’s Residential on Monday nights at 7:30 pm: Austin B will begin the commitment next month on October 21, 2024.

Concerns or Needs:

It was brought to my attention that we cannot waive requirements per policy so we will no longer be doing this unless approved by area.

Upcoming Events:

The next subcommittee meeting will be Thursday, October 17th at 7:00 PM. We will have orientation at 6:30 for new members and be meeting after the meeting for those interested in the ad hoc.

In Loving Service,

Stephanie M
Your Email Address
