GOASCNA Subcommittee Report

 Location: 150 E. Michigan Street


Opened the meeting with a moment of silence followed by the Serenity Prayer. The 12 Traditions were read.


Members Present: 9 (Number of members present)



v  Literature Rack for Englewood Community Center – Chair will call facility manager, Alexandra to discuss the type of literature desired.

o   Once the determination of what type of literature is desired, the literature will be brought to the Community Center and displayed.

v  Committee reviewed and discussed Tradition 11. Specific topic for each meeting brought by committee members or chosen by chair will continue for each subcommittee meeting.

New Business

v  Belle Isle Police Department decision is on hold due to the hurricane. More will be revealed.

o   Additional law enforcement agencies will be contacted in the near future to request presentations with goal of helpline card distribution

v  QR Code discussed and the meeting is scheduled for first draft presentation at the next PR subcommittee meeting on October 27th.

v  SEZF (Southeast Zonal Forum) PR task force holds a monthly webinar on the second Saturday of each month @ 2:30pm. Anyone can participate. Use the following link: https://sezf-frsc.adobeconnect.com/prztf/  Opportunity to discuss and hear about Public Relations efforts and best practices in our Southeastern zone.

v  Committee members encouraged to participate at the next FRSC, (Florida Regional Service Conference) which will be held November 18th in Orlando, to follow the developments of the PR regional workgroup, “Dialog with Treatment Centers.”
