Opened the meeting with a moment of silence followed by the Serenity Prayer. Serenity Prayer lead by Kevin M., followed by Purpose of the Helpline read by Miguel, Twelve Traditions read by Dennisse, and Twelve Concepts read by Kevin M.
Last month’s minutes were read by member (Dennisse). We then discussed organization tips, and another member (Dennisse) passed on a disk to the new Helpline chair (Kevin M.) that contains documents from her time in chair position in past that may be relevant as well as useful to new chairs.
Discussed going to homegroups and preform helpline orientations there, perhaps before their monthly business meeting. More will be revealed about this in the future.
A member (Dennisse) is going to email updated phone schedule roster to new Chair (Kevin M. and Secretary (Nikki B.) Nikki is then going to make contact with current Helpline members and do a “check-in.” (See if interested in any shifts that are available, advise of next committee meeting, update contact info and advise of new Helpline email. Nikki is also going to do the same with the 12 Step volunteer phone lists. Perhaps encouraging them to offer their service time to the Helpline, or encourage Sponsees to.
Nikki B. suggested creating an email for Helpline members. Purpose of this would be to provide current information to Helpline members such as meeting minutes, monthly meeting reminder, encouraging more to participate in shifts and attend monthly sub-committee meeting. Email will only consist of current Helpline members that approve of adding their email to contacts, and use will only be to assist with committee unity. The email that has been created is firstname.lastname@example.org Helpline Chair and Secretary only have access to email as administrators.
Service Awareness Day is July 30, 2016, so we discussed fun and creative ideas of how the committee could attract new members. Kevin M., Nikki B., and Dennisse intend on being present at event. And Dennisse is making a new Helpline flyer to present there.

Kevin M. was voted in as Chair of the Helpline; Nikki B. was voted in as Secretary.
Concerns or Needs
Our participation level is down. Four members had to be removed from being active and taking calls because of previous Chair upholding policy and procedures regarding monthly sub-committee meeting attendance policy not being met. (You must attend at least one Helpline sub-committee meeting in a year to remain active.) We have six vacancies in the roster of shifts available.
